Nothing in the ‘Cross/Gravel world matches the versatility of the Hyper-XC, thanks to the Paragon Rocker dropouts and their wide selection of dropout inserts.

The result is a race-ready disc ‘cross bike – configurable for derailleurs, single speed and even hub-based drive-trains. It’s upgrade-able, too. You can start with quick release hubs and upgrade to through-axle designs simply by swapping inserts. The removable derailleur tab means no more frame repairs if a stick gets cought in the gears. Other features:

  • 44mm head tube for tapered steerer compatibility.
  • Chainstay disc mounts provide for protection for the disc calipers.
  • Lighter tubeset than Fastlane.
  • Excellent braking – wet or dry.
  • Fewer mud-related problems.
  • The top tube is free of all cable routing for easier portage.

We didn’t forget the functionality: you still get eyelets and rear rack mounts plus two sets of water bottle bosses. The chainstay disc mounts let you mount a standard rear race for commuting or light touring – without interfering with the brake caliper.

Have special needs and interests? Gunnar offers a wide range of paint and frame options. When the need for custom fit is called for, you can take advantage of our “Made to Measure” version. With our Made to Measure service, you can also order horizontal dropouts for single speed riding, with either 120mm (fixed gear) or 135mm (single speed) rear dropout spacing. You can also order Paragon’s Slider or Rocker dropouts, which make it easy to convert your frame to disc brakes, single speed, hub-transmission and a host of other possibilities. We also offer a convertable package, where we add braze-ons for derailleur drive trains to go with the slider/rocker dropouts. Finally, you can order a version designed for the Rohloff 14-speed rear hub.
