Forks
Fork design and building have nearly as much impact on ride quality as the frame, yet forkbuilding isn’t nearly as well appreciated. Gunnar has carefully designed its road forks to match each frame, and equal care goes into the fabrication.:

Gunnar Uni-Fork Disc
Nothing beats the strength of the unicrown design, ideal for disc brake (and touring) applications. This design includes a 1 1/8″ steerer, single front eyelets and a through-hole for optional fender installation. The unicrown design also assures plenty of tire clearance.

Gunnar Custom Forks
Gunnar also offers a wide range of custom fork designs, from standard forks with special geometries to special crowns and dropout configurations. 1″ steerer forks can be ordered threaded and threadless. Below are a sampling of special crowns:
|
Straight Blade designs
This sloping straight-blade crown is investment cast and comes in both 1″ and 1 1/8″ versions. The hollow design keeps the weight down and the performance high.

The Box Top Crown
This highly versatile works great for road, cross or touring applications, thanks to its generous width and compact, square shoulder design. This investment casting is hollowed to keep it light, but the box design and long tangs keep the fork stiff. Available for both 1″ and 1 1/8″ steerer tubes.

|
Track Crown with Brake Hole
Round blades provide lateral stiffness for the track while brake holes allow the mounting of brakes for street and training use. This investment casting is hollowed to keep it light, but the box design keeps the fork stiff. Available for 1″ steerer tubes only.

Pure Track Crown
For those who want the classic track fork design, this crown offers a compact, stiff design for round blades (which provide lateral stiffness for the track). No brake holes means this is for track use only. Available for 1″ steerer tubes only.

Sloped Cross/Touring Crown
Many cyclocross and touring riders like the style of a sloped crown. This design provides generous touring with its investment-cast construction. Available for both 1″ and 1 1/8″ steerer tubes.
