Geometry:
Our Rockit TM geometry means
just point and shoot! The Rockhound's long top tube, short rear end, and
lower bottom bracket height place the rider in an ideal cross country position,
for climbing, nimble technical work and descents. Front end geometry is
optimized for 80mm travel front forks.
The Rock Hound 29er's front end layout includes a machined head tube design which
provides plenty of front fork clearance. Also, our 22" and 23.5" 29er designs offer a great fit to really big riders,
thanks to the taller 29er forks.
-
Tubing:
Waterford exclusive OS2 butted tube sets,
featuring True Temper OX Platinum air-hardening steel alloys,
custom drawn to our rigorous specs. Toptube and downtube are flared at the
head tube for greater surface contact and rigidity. Tubeset specifications
vary by frame size to offer riders of all sizes the strength and stiffness
they need.
-
Tires:
The 26er's clearance virtually all 2.1 inchers while the
29er's clear virtually all 2.3's.
-
Cable Routing:
Double top tube cable stops and zip tie guides make braking and shifting
responsive as well as portage easy. Comes ready for disc mounts. Optional removable canty studs
are also available.
