While winter is losing its tight grip on us, the smell of spring is bringing excitement and good riding ahead. Whatever your ride; lube it, shine it up, and let's roll!

Ruffian and Rockhound 29"er Update

For those of you ready to make the jump to big wheels, the 29" Mountain bikes are moving quickly. A common question is what tire clearance to expect. We had five initial frames ship with a specification for the WTB Nanoraptor 29x 2.1" (47-622), the most common tire specification requested and we have built with for the last 4 years. Current frames accommodate the larger WTB Motoraptor 29x 2.1" (52-622) and the inside width of the stays at the tire is 70mm.

S&S Gunnars

This increasingly popular $550 option is an awesome way to prepare your new Gunnar for traversing the globe. The couplers are polished stainless steel and silver-brazed into the frame. We build each coupler bike with a custom OS2 air-hardening top tube and down tube (sorry, no retrofits). Some applications may use a specially butted OS2 top tube and down tube while others will use our straight-gauge version.

The end result is a frame that can quickly be split for ease of travel with absolutely no compromise in performance.   S&S couplers are available on all Gunnar platforms. However; big sizes, i.e. a 20.5 29"er Rockhound won't likely fit into a hard case. www.sandsmachine.com

Gunnar Team Feature

Diane B.
Diane

For this round we feature key Gunnar team member Diane B. (last name omitted to protect her from her many fans and ex-boyfriends!) Her hawk-like attention to detail facilitates money in and money out of our organization. If you paid for it, Diane knows about it. And if you stole it she will soon...

"On August 12, 1996 I answered my first phone at Waterford Precision Cycles.   I can't recall who asked the question, but I do remember I was clueless on the subject of bottom brackets.   It has been a continuous education since that first day.   After spending half of my life on the West Coast as a Legal Secretary by Day/Punk Rocker by Night, I returned to Waterford, Wisconsin to find myself in the serendipitous position of Receptionist/Bookkeeper/General Nag in a bicycle factory.   The rock days are over, but I take tap dancing lessons to fill the creative void.   I own a Gunnar, named Sport, but it is very spoiled, doesn't have to run much.   This is a Very cool place to work".

It's very cool to have you here Diane!
